Donostia-San
Sebastián (Basque: Donostia. Spanish: San Sebastián, known
officially as Donostia-San Sebastián), is the capital city of the
province of Gipuzkoa/Guipuscoa, in the Basque Country. Its population is
182,930 (2005 estimate). The city is located in the north of Basque Country,
on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay. San Sebastian's picturesque
coastline makes it a popular beach resort. The city is referred to as Donosti
in its own dialect of the Basque language. |
